benonemusic FANTASTIC! Great compositions, wonderfully produced, tastefully arranged, excellent variety and diversity in the music. I hear the influence of Jarre, Vangelis, and the 80s in general as well as minimalistic and electronic music. Highly recommended! Favorite track: When She Calls Me Home.

rcarlberg/Anode I listened to this album about ten times straight through when I first got it, and still wanted to hear it again. On a big stereo the sounds are freaking awesome, and John's composing ranges from delicate and pensive, to gut punches with a lead sledge. Not tired of it yet, and I'm probably on listen #100. Favorite track: The Intrepid.

The Intrepid 06:16

Hey...want to get physical? Let's get physical...

This album is the culmination of roughly a year of writing and experimenting.

I was thinking about old sci-fi soundtracks from my 80's childhood, as well as the synth-heavy electronic/prog/new age music of the same decade. So maybe there's a bit more of that than before. Some of my fondness for noise and metal snuck in. There's a smidge of mellotron but it's buried so please don't hold it against me.

A good portion of the music started with improvisation, and many of the leads/melodies are first takes. The arrangements of course took significantly longer. i also took this project as an opportunity to improve my technical skills with regards to tracking/mixing. Sonically, this is the first time that the end result captures what I heard in my head.

In the end, it sounds like me when I'm at home with my various gadgets. It won’t be for everyone. Perhaps it won’t be for anyone. But I’m genuinely really happy with how it turned out and both excited and nervous to share it with everyone.

For those who might care, the files here on Bandcamp are all sourced from 24/48 WAV files.
