about

All right...this one. A variation on the title has been in my mind for years now, but I didn't find a piece of music that fit the phrase until now. I suppose this is a bit of a political/"we're killing the planet" sort of song...a fatalistic sort of perspective, but still...

Musically, this is also a slight nod/tribute to the late Jóhann Jóhannsson, whose music has brought so much pleasure to my life. That's a whole boatload of melancholy for just one song but...I suppose it worked out OK. I'm certainly fairly proud of how this song turned out.

In terms of the music, the original riff happened by accident while noodling around with a Linnstrument and the Deckard's Dream in MPE mode. I also obtained a Haken Continuum around this time, and it was used to create the soft melodies at the very end of the song.
