about

The Insomnia Stone was written in 2003 while Ephemeral Sun was just starting to work on Broken Door. Since most of my more 'rhythmic' ideas were being routed to the band material, I was happy to create something more ambient, just a series of tone poems with a very loose motif about insomnia.

Going back and listening to older stuff of late, some of the material (even more recent stuff) hasn't aged as well for me; some of it is downright cringeworthy. This one still makes me smile though. I also remember having a great time putting this together; it was a fun period of experimentation and creativity. I'm super thrilled to get it back out in the world again.
